Helping you to build, improve and innovate

Wherever you are in the world, CILL can help you develop strategy, improve practice or implement new projects. Our specialism is non-formal education, meaning holistic learning and soft skills development activities that take place beyond the classroom but are still structured and managed.

Combining an interest in policy with strong practical know-how and a flexible approach, we are good at understanding the strategic objectives of clients and managing the competing agendas of different stakeholders. We have a reputation for innovation and we love to experiment. We’re committed to inclusion and equal opportunity. We have the curiosity and cultural sensitivity needed to build effective international partnerships.

Clients and partners include government bodies, schools, universities, youth organisations and more. Our recent advisory and training work has taken us to Anguilla, Cyprus, India, Morocco, Oman, Philippines, Thailand, and Zimbabwe, as well as countries across mainland Europe.

    Lucie, primary school teacher

  • I could compare schools in the Czech Republic and England. I came to the conclusion that the issues in education are very similar.

    Jana, head teacher

  • I was amazed by lower primary school teaching. I found it warm and welcoming and I want to make some changes in teaching when back at my school.

    Silvie, primary school teacher

  • Young people need to see other cultures and ways of living, which improves tolerance of different ideas and broadens horizons. To boost their employability skills and independence. To have amazing experiences, meet new friends and see great places! To expand their mindset beyond Britain.

CILL Beyond Erasmus Plus youth survey response, 2021

  • There are quite a few organisations currently fighting for a better future and many understand the importance of youth. The next step is to link them together for global attention, and to encourage more teachers, youth group leaders or other active people to create more international projects.

    Sophie, youth worker, Austria

  • I have learned that there are a lot of people doing a great job with young people all over Europe. You will never walk alone.

    Guillem, youth leader, Spain

  • Getting young people from totally different backgrounds to live, work, study and play together is a vital building block in international relations. It is hard work to set up the projects and see them through to a successful conclusion but it is so worth it. Everybody wins - there are no losers!

    Peter, youth services manager, UK

  • I thoroughly enjoy working with young people within the international arena. The things which each part of the project bring are experiences which would be difficult to get anywhere else in young people’s lives. The fact that we are able to engage with those less fortunate again make the experiences top notch.

    Martin, youth organisation leader, UK

  • Three participants have since chosen to apply for further education as a direct result of the project. One father felt that the project had given his son confidence and he has developed skills that nobody had found before.

    Gillian, teacher, UK

  • The group impressed the OFSTED inspector with their commitment and knowledge gained in their exchange.

    Anna, 6th form head, UK

  • It was an unforgettable experience which taught me many things about myself and the world of work. It was amazing to be able to travel and meet other people our age that were also learning about business and overall was a fantastic opportunity.

    Samia, United Kingdom
